Covington Follow-up: A Call for Your Stories

Now that the Covington investigation of sexual harassment, racism, discrimination and retaliation at OHSU has been completed and the findings have been released, our union’s concern is that OHSU will make its usual apologies and its usual promises to “do better” and then follow that up — as usual — with little to no real, lasting change. We want you to help us make it impossible for OHSU to sweep this under the rug.

Women’s ERG Seeks Local 328 Members

The WERG is a safe and welcoming group for women to find friendship, resources and support at OHSU. The WERG hosts presentations, networking opportunities, discussions and more. The group shares information in three ways: a monthly newsletter, a Teams page and monthly Webex meetings. WERG meetings are held from 12 – 1 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month. Our represented employees may use up to an hour of paid release time each month to attend ERG meetings.

Every employee represented by AFSCME Local 328 receives the same benefits and protections under our contract, but some coworkers face systemic challenges at OHSU and within our union that we don’t all face. In order to improve our union’s accessibility to our Black, Indigenous and other members of color, we are introducing BIPOC office hours.
