Introducing BIPOC Office Hours

Every employee represented by AFSCME Local 328 receives the same benefits and protections under our contract, but some coworkers face systemic challenges at OHSU and within our union that we don’t all face. In order to improve our union’s accessibility to our Black, Indigenous and other members of color, we are introducing BIPOC office hours.

Hosted by TJ Acena, the chair of Local 328’s diversity, equity and inclusion committee, these office hours are intended to be a space for our BIPOC members to ask questions about our union, learn about the DEI committee, raise concerns, make suggestions and connect with other members.

Office hours are open to BIPOC dues-paying Local 328 members. The first session will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, Dec. 14, from 12 – 1 p.m. Feel free to drop in any time during the hour and stay as long as you wish. Click here to register — the meeting link will be emailed to you after you’ve registered. IMPORTANT: You must register with your OHSU email address, in order for us to verify your membership. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
