Why Are We Waiting?
Our union has been bargaining with OHSU for more than two months. We have our first mediation session in 12 days. Our contract expires in 49 days. And OHSU hasn’t responded at all to 61 of our proposals, including those that are most important to our members. Below are just some of the proposals we’re waiting to hear back on:
Longevity-rate improvements
New holidays
100% employer-paid insurance premiums
Transportation assistance
Better SIK-to-VAC conversion for attendance recognition
Workforce-development/career-development opportunities
Market-based salary adjustments
Bereavement leave
Paid family leave
Expanded preceptor pay
Higher premium pay for mandatory overtime
Float differential
Services for employees who speak ESL
Community-service leave
Appendix A improvements for salaried employees
Telework proposals
9%/8%/8% across-the board pay increases
Higher anniversary raises

Merit-based adjustments

In contrast, Local 328 hasn’t yet responded to 21 of OHSU’s proposals, including:
Proposed 66 days ago: two proposals re: clean-up time and special clothing (we’re waiting for an arbitration result before we can respond to these)
Proposed 24 days ago: sign-on bonuses, changes to workforce mental-health support/peer-to-peer group counseling
Proposed 17 days ago: flex-employee package (multiple proposals), shift differential, retirement-plan election, three department-specific letters of agreement
