Joint Statement re: OHSU Sexual-Misconduct Lawsuit

We (AFSCME Local 328, Graduate Researchers United and OHSU House Officers Union) are disappointed, enraged and unsurprised by the incidents of sexual harassment and assault that OHSU tries to sweep under the rug. We are committed to fighting back against the policies, inaction and corporate culture that allow misdeeds like the ones described in the story that broke about OHSU over the weekend to keep happening. We believe, support and stand with survivors. We know that many of you feel you can't step forward — we understand, because we've seen firsthand the kind of inaction described in this story. There must be accountability on the part of perpetrators and diligence by OHSU leaders in order for this to end.
