We Rally in Three Days!

Join us on Thursday, June 30, to rally for a good contract!

If you’ve been following our bargaining updates, you know that Local 328 and OHSU are far apart in many important areas, including:

  • Across-the-board wage increases

  • Telework protections

  • Sick time and bereavement leave

  • Diversity, equity and inclusion

  • Conditions for salaried workers

Now that we're in mediation, most of OHSU's movement at the table is going to be inspired not by the actions of the bargaining team, but by our members showing up and demanding it. The No. 1 way our members can make a difference at this stage of our union’s bargaining campaign is to make sure everyone knows about the rally and attends it in large numbers. A strong turnout is essential to show the employer that you’re willing to fight for what you need in this contract. Low numbers will show OHSU that our members might settle for what the management team has proposed so far, including across-the-board increases close to their 3.5%/3%/3% proposal.

Rally Details

  • Date: Thursday, June 30

  • Time: 4 – 6 p.m. (If you can’t make it right at the beginning, join us when you can!)

  • Location: Mac Hall lawn and surrounding area

  • Flyer to share!

Starting at 4 p.m., we’ll have food trucks (Tamale Boy, shave ice and BBQ), a swag table (water bottles, T-shirts and buttons), children’s games (this is a family-friendly event) and sign-making supplies, with speakers at 5 p.m.

At 5:30 p.m. we’ll march in front of the hospital to show OHSU what a strike could look like.

Friends, families and supportive coworkers are welcome! We’ll provide tables and chairs, but you may want to bring a blanket for the lawn. You may bring signs to carry, but please make sure they’re not attached to anything — this isn’t a picket, so picket signs aren’t allowed. We strongly encourage using public transportation, but if you need to drive, you can reserve a parking spot in Garage C or D via MyCommute.

This rally will be the best tool we have, short of a strike, to show OHSU the strength of our demands for a good contract. We hope to see you there! RSVP here.
