The 58th Biennial Oregon AFL-CIO Convention

Every odd-numbered year the Oregon American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) holds an annual convention for its member unions. This includes Oregon AFSCME, the American Federation of Teachers, Communications Workers of America, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and many more. Each union will send delegates to hear from speakers, attend workshops, and share experiences with other union members across the state.

This year’s convention will be held in Bend, Oregon at The Riverhouse. Delegates from Local 328 will have conference registration, as well as room and board, covered. If the conference falls on a regularly scheduled shift that will be covered by Local 328 as well.

Nominations for conference delegates open 6/14 @ 8:00 AM and close 6/21 @ 5:00 PM. You must have been a member in good standing for at least one year to be nominated.

The election will open 7/5 @ 8:00 AM and closes 7/12 @ 5:00 PM. 

Local 328 Board Elections

The Local 328 executive board runs on two-year terms, and this September a new board will be sworn in. The board members are the leaders of our union, elected from our membership, and tasked with guiding our union as it works to protect the rights in our contract, strategize for our future, handle the background administration of a union that supports nearly 8,000 members, and run programming. There are dozens of positions on the board, some with specific roles and responsibilities to fill, and others with more general duties. Positions descriptions for all board members can be found on this webpage. Whether you have been at OHSU for 20 years, or you have only been here a year, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. Check out a future membership meeting for more opportunities to learn about the board and what it’s like to serve. Board meetings happen on the third Wednesday of every month. 

Nominations for the board open 8/1 @ 8:00 AM. Close 8/8 @ 5:00 PM. Anyone who has been a member in good standing for at least a year is eligible to run. You may nominate yourself or any other member who you think would be a strong advocate for 328 members.

The election will open 9/5 @ 8:00 AM and closes 9/12 @ 5:00 PM.
