Upcoming Elections

The 2021 elections for the Local 328 bargaining team, executive board, and delegates to the Oregon AFL-CIO convention, are quickly approaching! If you, or someone you know, are looking to make a difference at OHSU and can bring a fresh perspective to our union, then it’s time to step up and get involved. Nominating yourself or someone else for an elected position is a great way to ensure that our union tackles OHSU’s largest issues and protects our most vulnerable union siblings.

To place a nomination, click on the “NOMINATIONS” tab on our Local 328 website during the nomination period listed below. There you can nominate yourself or someone else to be a part of the bargaining team, executive board, or be a delegate for the AFL-CIO convention.

Check out the timeline below to make sure you don’t miss out on any important election dates:

  • Nominations: Monday, July 19th - Monday, August 9th

  • Elections held: 8am Wednesday, September 1st - 5pm Wednesday, September 15th

  • Board retreat and swearing in ceremony: Friday, September 24th - Sunday, September 26th

If you are struggling to decide what area to get involved with, here is a short rundown of what you can expect with each group:

  • The Local 328 bargaining team collaborates with employees from across OHSU to identify bargaining issues. They then sit face-to-face with management to negotiate our union contract.

  • The executive board is Local 328’s leadership and consists of volunteers from all across OHSU. The board meets every month to go over prominent workplace issues, engage new and current employees, and vote on impactful agreements and arbitrations to help strengthen our contract.

  • Being a delegate at the AFL-CIO Convention means you get to represent working people from an array of job sites, choose leadership, and vote to adopt resolutions that guide the labor movement.

If you want to make a difference, now is your chance to use your voice. By participating in the elections, you can help advocate for workers, take on bully bosses, lead your fellow members, and help advocate for the best OHSU possible.
