Local 328 Members Authorize Strike

Our strike vote officially closed at 9:00 a.m. this morning.

In a vote with unprecedented member turnout, we surpassed the voting threshold necessary to authorize a strike. Support for the strike authorization was strong: 93% of voters voted yes.

We’re also very pleased to announce that we signed up 316 new members this month — more than 50% during the strike vote alone!

Thank you all so much for your support during this long bargaining season. It is so appreciated by all the members our of bargaining team.

Please note that this vote does not mean that we’ll automatically go on strike, but a strike authorization is an important tool to have in hand. We’re in another mediation session with OHSU today and will continue to strive to reach an agreement at the bargaining table if possible.

We’ll likely make a more public announcement in the coming days, but wanted to share the news with you all first.
