Local 328 Member Lost to COVID-19
On Wednesday, May 13, our union became aware of the death of a Local 328 member in Food and Nutrition due to COVID-19.
The individual is the first Local 328 member and OHSU employee to die in the fight against COVID-19. This sacrifice is more than any worker should bear, and we are heartbroken by this loss. Our union is attempting to work with OHSU to ensure that grief counselors are made available to Food and Nutrition staff.
Our union is still attempting to gather facts and contact the individual's family to offer assistance. We will update our membership with additional details as they become available, with consideration to the family’s wishes.
We ask that you keep this member in your thoughts, and please continue to appreciate and care for each other during this difficult time.
