Make a Difference at OHSU: Join the LMC

The OHSU/AFSCME Labor Management Committee currently has open seats, one of which is designated for an AFSCME Local 328 member. Applications must be submitted by Friday, August 7.

The LMC is a collaboration between OHSU and AFSCME that brings employees and managers together with the mission of improving the workplace. The committee has a contract-protected budget and a history of making real, lasting change at OHSU, and it needs passionate committee members to carry out its work.

Why join the LMC? During this stressful time of COVID-19, the LMC’s mission to improve the workplace is even more crucial to OHSU’s future success. As a committee member, you will help develop and lead new projects that make OHSU a better place to work. Plus, membership looks great on your résumé!

Past LMC initiatives include:

The LMC is made up of six AFSCME-represented employees and six managers with AFSCME-represented staff, from across OHSU’s mission areas. Current members can be viewed on O2. Membership is on a rolling three-year rotation. The committee recruits on a biennial basis and is currently seeking one Local 328 member and two managers of AFSCME-represented employees.

Details

LMC members commit to a minimum time commitment of two hours per month in order to attend monthly meetings (which are currently held virtually). Additional time may be required for delegated tasks.

The LMC welcomes members from all OHSU campuses and clinics — you do don’t need to work on Marquam Hill or in Portland to apply.
