Celebrate Pride with Your Union Family

This weekend is the Portland Pride Waterfront Festival and Parade at Tom McCall Waterfront Park!

While the Oregon AFSCME Pride Caucus doesn’t have an official event, we want to highlight that the Oregon AFL-CIO will have a booth at the waterfront festival where union members can connect. Their booth will be open Saturday, June 18, from 12 – 6 p.m., and Sunday, June 19, from 11:30 am – 6 p.m. The AFL-CIO will also have a contingent in the parade on Sunday, June 19; the parade begins at 11 a.m. in the North Park Blocks and staging will take place on NW 9th Avenue. Local 328 members can RSVP here to either march in the parade or help with the booth.

Oregon AFSCME’s Pride Caucus is looking at ways to support and celebrate our LGBTQ community all year long, beginning with creating custom Oregon AFSCME Pride shirts. During Pride Month the caucus is hosting a logo design competition — click here for more details and how to submit a design. The caucus will meet in July to review submissions and vote on a winner. The shirts will be unveiled at the Salem Pride in the Park event on Saturday, Sept. 24, where Oregon AFSCME will be hosting a booth.
