Bargaining Update: July 26
July 27 Bargaining Support Picket: Tomorrow is the day! Details about the picket, including an RSVP link, a map of the specific location and information about the plan for the hot weather can be found here. Note: If you have medical or other issues that would be exacerbated by the heat, please don’t feel obligated to attend.
Tentative Agreements to Date: We’ve been bargaining for almost four months now. While we haven’t yet reached agreement on the big economic issues, we have agreed on a lot of language that will improve our contract. A list of all TAs we’ve reached with OHSU, as of last week, can be found here.
Side-by-Side Comparison of Key Proposals: We’re all understandably paying a lot of attention to the proposals for our across-the-board increases, but there’s a lot of other important language that’s still on the table, including proposals re: remote work, longevity rate, ANI, on-call, protections from harassment and discrimination, shift and weekend differentials, sick time, insurance contributions and conditions for salaried employees. A side-by-side comparison of key proposals, plus a list of all outstanding proposals, can be found here.
Today’s Work and the Days Ahead: Today both teams had a planned work day, since the state mediator wasn’t available. Our union’s team had a very productive day, working for 12.5 hours on a number of counterproposal packages. We look forward to getting these proposals to OHSU and making progress at the bargaining table. Tomorrow and Thursday the teams will be in mediation. These two days will likely run late into the evening; while we’ll try to post full updates at the end of each day as usual, we may need to do short updates during the day and then post a full update on Friday.
Strike Vote Scheduled: Local 328 will conduct a strike vote from Wednesday, August 17, through Thursday, August 25. Learn more here.
