2/4 Bargaining Update
Hello Union Siblings!
The bargaining team met up with OHSU again on Tuesday and has been able to get ground rules passed! This means we can now work on the logistics of streaming our bargaining sessions to our members. We are excited to be able to give our members insight and visibility into this important process so please stay tuned for more information on how and where to watch.
The team also passed there first tentative agreement, often called a TA. It was a wording change to article 5.45 which removed some restrictive language on what leave can be considered protected. These types of changes and agreements are important as they help to build a ground work that lets us protect more leave other than FMLA.
OHSU did pass a proposal back to our bargaining team which would have severely restricted the use of the well being leave to require a two week notice. Our bargaining team pushed back on this as having tighter restrictions on well being leave removes the purpose of well being leave.
