We had hoped that the management team would come back with a selection of counterproposals that show OHSU values the members of our bargaining unit and has heard our concerns, but that didn’t happen.

Kicking the Can Down the Road

On Tuesday, April 12, Local 328 made a number of proposals to protect workers from harassment, discrimination and violence on the job. OHSU’s counterproposal to decline to address this during bargaining, in favor of turfing it to the Covington implementation and oversight committees was disappointing but unsurprising.

May BIPOC Office Hours

Every employee represented by AFSCME Local 328 receives the same benefits and protections under our contract, but some coworkers face systemic challenges at OHSU and within our union that we don’t all face. In order to improve our union’s accessibility to our Black, Indigenous and other members of color, we are holding regular BIPOC office hours.
